Our Hope is in Jesus!

… But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God…….. 1 Sam 30:6 (KJV)

In 1 Samuel chapter 30, we read about an incident in the life of King David, David was a righteous man, at the service of God, fighting against the enemies of God 's people. During this phase of his life, some of his enemies come and capture his land and his family members, he and his soldiers all lose their family, their wives, children and possessions were taken away by the Amalekites and the fellow men with David started to speak against him and wanted to stone him, during such a phase in life David was discouraged, depressed and every negative emotion was working against David. He had lost his family, his wives and children and possession, and also the men whom he spent most amount of time were against him and were after his life, the bible says in verse 6 David encourage himself in the Lord. What does that mean? It means David did not depend on the men around him to get sympathy, he did not listen to the lies the enemy spoke in his ears, and He overcame the negative feelings by looking up to God. In his heart he knew God will still work a miracle and can change every situation in his life, he believes God to restore to him all that he lost.

He did not get discouraged because his colleagues were considering killing him, he rather chose to believe and trust God to do the impossible for him like he always  did in the past while David fought the wild animals who came to devour his flock and fight the battle against the Giant Goliath. and if we read further we see David was victorious once against he went ahead and fought the Amalekites and bought back their families and possession and destroyed the Amalekites totally.

Dear people of God, today like David you could be in a difficult situation of your life, you could have lost something in your life, the devil could have taken away something from your life and you feel you have lost the battle. but the good news is the battle is not over, The bible says If God is for you who can be against you. Don't loose hope done feel sad and discouraged, rather get encouraged. Trust in God, Read his word, and believe God to work the most impossible miracle in your life.  God will never leave or abandon you, he will bring you out of the situation you are in. He will raise you up, all you needed will be provided for. Trust in him, wait upon him. The bible says God is the same, he doesn't not change. What he did for David he will do for  you. He loves you.
