As we just begin our spiritual journey, we could fall into
sin and go back to our old ways of living sometimes intentionally or sometimes
unintentionally, and we could begin to feel very miserable and guilty. The
baggage of this guilt is so much that we can’t lift up our head and begin new,
we find discouragement all around us and many if not all will give up and then
continue in the old ways assuming that they can’t find favor with God.
Dear child of God, if you find yourself in such a situation, we
have great encouragement in the Word of God, 1 Samuel 12:20 says Do not fear. You have done all this
wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD
with all your heart.
God 1st of all encourages us by saying do not
fear, irrespective of all evil done God says Do not fear. He is aware of all
evil and wrong we have done, but do not turn away from God. I believe our greatest defeat is when we
continue in the evil, the moment we realize the evil we have done, the moment
we realize we have gone way from God’s will for us, we need to turn to God,
leave the wrong and turn to God and do what we are called to do, what we are supposed
to be doing for God.
If we look at our lives, when we go back to our old wicked ways
and realize the wrong we are doing, we tend to get discouraged, we tend to feel
God will no longer accept us back, we don’t deserve to be at the service of
God, and this is what the enemy wants us to do, turn away from God and stop
working for his kingdom.
I want to encourage you and tell, irrespective of the wrong
you have done, God still loves you, he still needs you to serve him, we can
never be righteous in our own efforts, we need his grace all the time, so in
spite of all the wrong we have done, do worry, don’t fear, but rather make a
conscious decision to give up, turn away from the wrong and follow him, serve
God, do things to increase his kingdom to build the kingdom of God, tell
somebody about Jesus.
Satan’s only aim is to discourage us and make us feel so
guilt that we feel worthless of serving God and in turn keep us way from doing
God’s will and work.
Alongside we need to also bear in mind that we don’t end up
falling into the same evil deliberately. In very temptation the enemy brings we
need to pray and resist him, In James 4:7 the Word of God says Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you. If we fall into the same
sin over and over again without making any effort to overcome it. In heb 10:26
the bible warns us of habitual sinning If we deliberately keep on sinning
after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is
left.
